ALGA CARTA is unique paper which uses algae harvested from the Venice Lagoon, in its manufacture. As part of a project no environmental protection run by the Magistrato alle Acque for the Consorzio Venezia Nuova; this very special paper was developed through cooperation from Consorzio Venezia Nuova, ENEA, SGS Ecologia and Cartiera Favini. Algae ts overgrowing in the Venice Lagoon as a consequence of pollution, an inevitahle but unwelcome consequence of urban living. To control this overgrowth the Algae is harvested thereby allowing the lagoon to return to its natural clean state where the ecosystern can live in balance. The by-product of this harvesting operation is the Algae. Cartiera Favini have put this natural by-product to good use in the manufacture of high quality eco friendly paper. An original and unique development ALGA CARTA is a very high quàlity paper with a very smooth surface and excellent bulk. In addition to using Algae in its make up Alga Carta is made with Chlorine Free pulp (ECF) process and with 50% recycled fibre. ACID FRIEE too, this paper actually gets whiter as it ages. Because of its high quality finish and durability Alga Carta is suitable for a wide variety of printing applications. It is ideal for distinctive publicity work, quality corporate stationery and a variety of other applications. ALGA CARTA is Laser compatibl. |
